Kindling

The (KINDLING) Project

You can support one of our projects RUT by donating here and by supporting one project you support all three, the same team volunteers on all (KINDLING) Projects.

The (Kindling) project has been set up by Night Light to provide professional assistance to artists who are looking to create their own work for the first time. It exists to nurture all kinds of theatre makers in their own personal development.

The first show under The (Kindling) Project ‘VERTIGO’ has gone back  into rehearsal with Night Light artistic Director Rich Rusk. We are proud to say the show will tour in the spring of 2012.

If you can’t wait until then we will be previewing the show at THE NEW DIORAMA in December. Click here for more info.

(Kindling) offers help artistically and administratively, acting as a support structure rather than a driving force. Artists who work under the (Kindling) project are left to create their own material in their own way. Administrative support offered by Night Light includes help with budgeting, promoting and producing the show. Artistic advice and guidance is available throughout the process, but is never given with the intention of changing or altering work. (Kindling) supports the development of the arts, and encourages young theatre makers to make mistakes and to learn through doing.

The first ever (Kindling) production, ’Vertigo’ was performed at the Edinburgh Fringe festival this year at the Bedlam theatre. Vertigo was created by two performers who had worked together before but had never devised something of their own without a director. They performed for the first week of the fringe, receiving many positive reviews and a strong audience response. (***** WhatsOnStage, ****Edinburgh Spotlight)

(Kindling) is based in Cambridge and works predominantly in the East of England.
This year we are supporting three exciting companies.

Please note: The (Kindling) Project is run on a volunteer basis. We are not able to provide funding, but we are able to provide full access to our artistic network.
